Our wheatgrass with apple and cucumber smoothie recipe is a refreshing, vegetarian, and gluten-free recipe for better well-being in spring, to cleanse the organs and nourish the soul.
Wheatgrass is an excellent microgreen that makes it extremely nutritious for your health. Although high in nutrients and antioxidants, vitamins A, C and E, iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids; on its own the telltale bitterness and earthy flavour understandably puts off many people. In this recipe we have created a delicious blend that is absolutely drinkable, with wheatgrass still the hero but with many sidekicks to support it :)
This recipe is vegetarian and gluten free.

Ingredients
- 1 green apple
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 bunch homegrown wheatgrass microgreen
- 2cm grated ginger
- 1/2 juiced fresh lemon
- 1C Greek yogurt ( can replace yoghurt with water, coconut water, soymilk, almond milk etc)
- 1 tbsp protein powder (plant based)
Method

Place all the ingredients in a mixer/blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you like your smoothies thin, add orange juice or water. Pour into a glass. Enjoy!
