Wheatgrass kernels/sprouting seeds - Microgreens
Taste: Wheat kernels are hugely versatile and can be sprouted or grown as wheatgrass microgreens. The young sprouts have a mildly sweet taste, similar to green tea, and can be eaten whole and raw. They can also be used to make flour, bread and porridge. When grown as microgreens, they take on a stronger, more earthy flavour and are most commonly juiced raw and consumed in liquid form as wheatgrass.
Nutrition: Whether consumed as sprouts or wheatgrass, wheat kernels are an excellent source of minerals and vitamins. They’re particularly rich in iron, calcium, magnesium and amino acids, as well as vitamins A, C, and E. The high levels of fibre found in wheat kernels also make them ideal for promoting better digestive and bowel health.
